Welcome to Wood Technlogy II

 

Prerequisites: Completion of Wood Technology 1 (60% or better)

Grade: 9-12           Length: 1 Semeser            Credit: ½ Practical Art                GPA: Regular

 

This course provides more advanced exploration into the skills and techniques used in woodworking technology. It will consist of demonstrations and discussions of tools, materials, product design, engineering, and processes in woodworking technology. Units of study will include: Lathe turning, Computer Numerical Controlled (CNC) Router design and applications, laser engraving and cutting along with many other tools used for Individual Furniture Fabrication. Wood projects will be planned and constructed by applying the techniques learned in class. Technology innovation, workplace safety, problem solving, careers, and leadership skills will also be emphasized. Students will be expected to pay for project materials provided by the school.
