Welcome to Wood Technology I

Prerequisites: None

Grade: 9-12                 Length: 1 Semester              Credit: ½ Practical Art            GPA: Regular

This course consists of the study and use of tools, materials, products and processes in woodworking. Workplace safety, problem-solving processes, technology, and careers will be emphasized. Several projects will be constructed by applying the principles and techniques learned in class. Students will have the opportunity to participate in Technology Student Association (TSA) activities and industrial technology contests. Students will be expected to pay for project materials provided by the school. $15.00 is required for the cost of materials used for a folding stool that will be made during the course of the semester. An optional $45.00 is expected to cover material cost of an Adirondack chair that will be made during the course of the semester if the student wishes to keep the project.
